About Kristen

Kristen received her Master’s degree in counseling from Eastern University in 2008. Upon graduation, she worked as a Behavior Specialist and Mobile Therapist, providing care in the home, school, and community settings for children and adolescents with behavioral, emotional, and social needs. This allowed her to implement behavior modifications in the child’s natural settings, working alongside the child’s caregivers and other team members. In addition, Kristen served as the Program Coordinator/Supervisor for four years. Kristen was also trained in Functional Behavior Assessment to help identify why certain behaviors occur, and implement interventions to improve or eliminate those behaviors.

Kristen is experienced in working with children with Attention-Deficit/Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD), Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD), mood disorders (anxiety & depression), Oppositional Defiant Disorder, social skill deficits, and more. While she does not believe there is a one-size-fits-all approach for therapy, she uses a collaborative, client-centered and strength based approach  while incorporating Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) techniques. Kristen believes there are many factors that contribute to someone's mental health, and she is passionate about working together to develop healthy coping skills, communication skills, and relationships.
